Hotel Vicenza historic city center

Hotel Due Mori is in the historic city center of Vicenza, a minute's walk from Piazza dei Signori where you can find the wonderful Basilica Palladiana and Loggia del Capitaniato. These masterpieces are by Andrea Palladio, an architect of the late Renaissance who provided Vicenza with splendid buildings, the extraordinary Olympic Theater, and fabulous villas throughout the area. Thanks to this abundance of art and beauty, the historic city center of Vicenza and Palladian villas were recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 1994.

Hotel Due Mori’s fortunate location in the historic city center of Vicenza allows you to discover the city on foot. In fact, you can admire the facades of Palladio's buildings during a pleasant walk along Corso Andrea and reach the Olympic Theater in just a few minutes. Corso Andrea Palladio is also Vicenza’s main shopping street, where you can find boutiques for Italy’s most famous fashion and goldsmith brands. Vicenza is actually the world capital of goldsmith art and every year it hosts an important world fair dedicated to jewelry production.

To discover the secrets of goldsmith art and admire priceless jewels, the Museo del Gioiello is dedicated exclusively to jewelry and is a must-see in Vicenza. You can reach it in just a minute's walk from the hotel.

The perfect end to a day of touring the city and surrounding Palladian villas is to sit down to a typical Vicenza meal. Several restaurants and trattorias near the hotel offer local cuisine, such as the famous Baccalà alla Vicentina (made from stockfish), Polenta e Osei (polenta with roasted poultry), Risi e Bisi (rice and peas), and Bigoli con l’arna (pasta in duck ragu). You can enjoy all of these and more, perhaps accompanied by a bottle of local DOC wine.

Feel free to ask for advice from reception on what to visit and where to eat: we are happy to provide plenty of useful information for exploring our wonderful Vicenza!
Vicenza is also ideally located for visiting the Veneto’s other important cities: Verona is 58 km away, Padua 50 km, Venice 80 km, and Treviso is 63 km away.
